• Agents can take courses from any license type to complete their CE.
• Ethics Requirement: All agents are required to complete 3 hours of Ethics every 2 years.
• Long Term Care Requirement: Individuals who sell long-term care products must complete 8 hours of LTC for the first renewal, then 4 hours every 2 years thereafter.
• Flood Requirement: All agents who sell federal flood insurance policies must complete a one-time 3-hour flood insurance course.

The compliance date is the first day of the agent's birth month every 2 years.
Agents born in even years renew in even years.
Agents born in odd years renew in odd years.

There is a filing fee of $1.00 per CE credit hour.

Self-Study, Online, Classroom

Agents should read the course material prior to taking the final exam.

Yes, self-study exams must be monitored. Your Qualified Proctor must be:
A disinterested third party, someone who is not a relative or business associate.

Carryover of excess hours is not allowed in Michigan.

Courses may not be taken for credit more than once in each renewal.

The following exemptions are available:

• Those who hold a limited life license
• Those who hold a turkey, crop, and hail license
• Those who hold a travel, accident, and baggage license
• Those who hold a title license
• Those who hold a credit products license

Completions reported daily Monday through Friday excluding holidays.
