Oklahoma CE REQUIREMENTS

How many CE hours do I need?
 

24 hours every 2 years, 3 hours of which must be in Ethics and 2 hours of which must be in Legislative Updates.

Are there any state specific CE course subject requirements?
 

  • Agents can take courses from any license type to complete their CE.
  • Adjusters must take courses approved for adjusters.
  • Ethics Requirement: All agents (Excluding Title producers) are required to complete 3 hours of Ethics every 2 years.
  • Legislative Update Requirement: All agents are required to complete 2 hours of Legislative Updates every 2 years.
  • Medicare Requirement: Producers that sell, solicit, or negotiate Medicare Advantage or Part D Products or Plans are required to take a 4 hour Medicare Renewal course each renewal period.
  • Long Term Care Requirement: Producers who sell long-term care products must complete 8 hours of LTC for the first renewal, then 4 hours every 2 years thereafter.
  • Annuity 4 Hour Requirement: Producers who sell, solicit, or negotiate Annuity products must complete a one-time 4-hour approved Annuity course.
  • Flood Requirement: All agents who sell federal flood insurance policies must complete a one-time 3-hour flood insurance course.
  • Workers Compensation Requirement All adjusters who adjudicate workers' compensation claims in Oklahoma are required to complete 6 CE hours related to the Workers' Compensation Act.

When do I have to complete my CE?
 

The compliance date is the last day of the license issuance month every 2 years.

What are the state filing fees?
 

There is a filing fee of $1.00 per CE credit hour.

What are the allowed methods of completing CE?
 

Self-Study, Online, Classroom

What are the study requirements for my courses?
 

Agents must read the course material prior to taking the final exam.

Do the exams require monitoring?
 

No, Noble's self-study exams do not require monitoring. Students may refer to the course material as often as needed.

Can excess hours be carried over to the next renewal?
 

6 hours may be carried over to the next renewal period.

Can I repeat a course I've already taken?
 

Courses may not be taken for credit more than once in each two-year period.

Are all agents required to complete CE?
 

The following exemptions are available:

  • Limited insurance representatives
  • Nonresident producers whose home state is reciprocal with Oklahoma and whose home state’s CE requirements are the same or greater than Oklahoma’s
  • Nonresident adjusters whose license is in good standing and who have completed the continuing education requirements for another state. Please see “Nonresident CE Requirements” above.
  • Producers who have not, will not, or shall no longer, sell, solicit, or negotiate Medicare Advantage or Medicare Private Fee for Service products and plans are exempt from the Medicare Training requirement.
  • A life insurance producer who is also operating as a viatical settlement broker is not subject to the viatical settlement broker continuing education requirements.

When will my course completions be reported?
 

Completions reported daily Monday through Friday excluding holidays.
Agents must have their CE credit hours posted prior to their expiration date and prior to applying to renew their insurance license(s).
