What are Florida Insurance Continuing Education requirements?

Florida Insurance Continuing Education requirements every 2 years are:
  • Agents Licensed less than 6 years:
       24 credit hours every 2 years
  • Agents Licensed 6 years or more:
      20 credit hours every 2 years
  • Customer Service Representatives:
     10 credit hours every 2 years
CE hours must consist of the following:
  • Law & Ethics: 4 hours approved for your license.
  • Before you sell...
    • Long Term Care: Initial 8 hours, thereafter 4 hours.
    • Flood: One-time 3 hours.
  • Electives: Any remaining hours.

The compliance date is the last day of the agent's birth month every 2 years.
What are the state filing fees?
There is no state filing fee in Florida.
What are the allowed methods of completing CE?
Self-Study, Online, Classroom
What are the study requirements for my courses?
As a self-study provider approved by the Florida Department of Financial Services (FLDFS), WebCE is required to ensure students fully complete a course for the credit hours approved to continue to be in compliance with Rule 69B-228 of Florida Administrative Code. Students must read the course material and answer each set of end-of-chapter quizzes with a score of at least 70 percent prior to taking final exam.
Do the exams require monitoring?
No, Noble's self-study exams do not require monitoring. The final exam must be closed book, access to the course material is restricted until the exam has been graded.
Can excess hours be carried over to the next renewal?
Up to 24 hours, may be carried over to the next reporting period.
Can I repeat a course I've already taken?
You cannot repeat the same course within 2 years from the last completion date.
What are the non-resident requirements?
Non-resident Florida licensees who comply with the CE requirements in their resident state are exempt from Florida CE. Non-resident adjusters may meet the CE requirement of their resident state or any state’s CE requirement where an adjuster license is held. Non-resident agents must comply with the LTC training for this state or another state which meets the NAIC LTC Model training outline.
Are all agents required to complete CE?
The following exemptions are available:
  • Dental representative
  • Motor vehicle physical damage/mechanical breakdown agent
  • Crop hail/multiple peril crop agent
When will my course completions be reported?
Completions reported daily Monday through Friday excluding holidays.
How long do I have to complete my courses?
Access to your courses will expire 12 months from the date of purchase.
