What are Indiana Insurance Continuing Education requirements?

Indiana Insurance Continuing Education requirements are 24 credit hours every 2 years consisting of the following:
  • Ethics: 3 hours.
  • Before you sell...
    • Annuity: One-time 4 hours.
    • Long Term Care: Initial 8 hours, thereafter 5 hours.
    • Flood: One-time 3 hours.
  • Electives: Any remaining hours from any license type.

When do I have to complete my CE?
Producers: The compliance date is the last day of the licensee's birth month every 2 years.
Adjusters: The compliance date is the last day of the adjuster's birth month every 2 years.
What is a Sircon Fee?
$4.00 per CE course. This fee is charged by Sircon who processes your course completions and the amount collected is sent to Sircon when your credits are reported.
What are the allowed methods of completing CE?
Self-Study, Online, Classroom
What are the study requirements for my courses?
Agents must read the course material prior to taking the final exam.
Do the exams require monitoring?
Yes, self-study exams must be monitored. Your Qualified Proctor must be:
An Indiana licensed agent.

If the final exam is not passed on the first attempt, students have an unlimited number of retakes.
Can excess hours be carried over to the next renewal?
Carryover of excess hours is not allowed in Indiana.
Can I repeat a course I've already taken?
Courses may not be taken for credit more than once in each renewal.
What are the non-resident requirements?
Non-resident Indiana licensees who comply with the CE requirements in their resident state are exempt from Indiana CE. Nonresidents are also exempt from complying with the LTC training requirement.
Are all agents required to complete CE?
The following exemptions are available:
  • Individuals who no longer actively solicit insurance but who maintain a license in order to collect commissions on business written while still active agents.
  • Individuals completing the one-time 15-hour long-term care training requirement shall be exempt from the LTC CE requirement of eight hours for the reporting period immediately following completion of the course.
When will my course completions be reported?
Completions for online courses are reported immediately 24/7.
Completions for shipped courses are reported daily. (Monday through Friday)
You will receive an email immediately after your course has been reported.
How long do I have to complete my courses?
Access to your courses will expire 12 months from the date of purchase.
